It winds through the Grand Escalante Staircase. The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument contains 1.9 million acres of land in southern Utah.The "Staircase" is created bythe terrace stepsof the various color cliffs in the region: Vermilion, White, Gray, Pink.
